Oil-water separation is a field of high significance as it has direct practical applications for resolving the problem of industrial oily waste water and other oil/water pollution. therefore it is essential to develop functional material for efficient treatment of oil-polluted water. We have prepared a sponge like nano membrane for the oil water separation. This membrane has been developed by a simple and low cost method. By using this sponge like membrane we can easily remove oil from water as the sponge is highly oleophilic in nature.
